So I have decided to do a little experimentation with online astrological charts. I've chosen three different websites:
Astrolab Free Charts
Spirit Project
CafeAstrology
AstroLab utilizes a very simple html-based form to input the user's name, birth date, location of birth by city/country/state (if in the USA), and time of birth in order for the site's programming to determine how each planet relates to each other planet and degree on the chart, and what it represents for you as well as giving a visual diagram for you to print and keep for later use.
Since I have made my own Astrology Natal Chart, I have found this particular chart to be pretty accurate. Mine looks almost identical to the one pictured above. Although I read the summary below and it was too generic (as can be expected). My handmade chart using Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft gave general interpretations as well, but they were more accurate than the ones provided by this site as based on the online chart.
Spirit Project's Birth Chart is also a simple form, but as you fill in spaces, the chart to your right animated and changes. You click "Go" and the animation completes. This site doesn't provide a summary or interpretation of the chart, but as far as mine goes, it's similar to the one above and the one I made by hand.
So for me, this chart would be used by someone who can interpret the charts without assistance from a website, but it would make so much more sense for someone who can already interpret to go ahead and create the chart themselves by hand. This is just faster comparatively, so I suppose in the interest of saving some time this would be a good one to use.
The third online natal chart I tried was from CafeAstrology.com and to me it was sort of a disappointment. A circular chart was replace by two tables, one for planet positions and the second for planetary aspects. This one also gives brief summaries of the details in the charts in relation to each other.
This method seems for viable for those who get confused by the circular chart, and find it easier to interpret their birth chart using the tables instead.
Thank you so much for reading this post! Next Time I'd like to talk a little bit about the pre-packaged horoscopes we find in newspapers and magazines. :) Until then!!
